Notes on a simple gallery for film photos

Ok, I’ve had a few gallery sites over the years. The most recent one was on Wordpress. That was cool and all, but it seemed like everyone wanted to hack this wordpress instance. I learnt how to secure it, though. That’s always a plus I guess. It helped me to help my dancing comunity with their getting their wordpress to working order. Yey for me!

What I want is something different. I don’t need to publish every day or week. More like every half a year. It’s soooo…. slow…

  1. Let’s try something else from Wordpress
  2. It has to be free. I don’t make money from photos so I want to publish for free too
  3. Static web page is harder to hack. Why not go that direction.
  4. It can resemble this post’s Jekyll workflow. It’s a git repo with auto-after-push-publication. Pretty neat and easy after finally being setup.
  5. Self-publish with nginx.
  6. Very important is I need it to be out-of-the-boxy’y solution. I’m really bad graphic designer. Less words - more pictures
  7. With stle. I mean like exposure.co

Having this in mind let’s try:

I liked expose for impressive flexibility. One contender was lychee. Other one I found was nanogallery. In partucular Demo_Grid_Justified. Or prosopopee
